According to the 2024 population change sample survey, the total permanent resident population at the end of the year was 30.29 million, including 20.61 million urban residents and 9.68 million rural residents. The urbanization rate of the permanent resident population was 68.05%, an increase of 0.94 percentage points from the previous year. The population aged 0-14 accounted for 8.4% of the total population, while those aged 65 and over made up 19.4% of the total population.

Residents 'income. The per capita disposable income of the province's permanent residents was 31,269 yuan, an increase of 5.3% from the previous year. By place of residence, the per capita disposable income of urban residents was 38,212 yuan, up 4.7%; the per capita disposable income of rural residents was 20,963 yuan, up 6.1%. The per capita living consumption expenditure of permanent residents was 23,467 yuan, up 6.4% from the previous year. By place of residence, the per capita living consumption expenditure of urban residents was 27,625 yuan, up 6.7%; the per capita living consumption expenditure of rural residents was 17,295 yuan, up 5.1%.
