At the end of 2022 and the beginning of 2023, the resident population of the whole prefecture was 2.124 million, an increase of 7,400 compared with the previous year. Among them, the urban population was 828,700, an increase of 24,200 compared with the previous year; and the rural population was 1.2953 million, a decrease of 16,800 compared with the previous year. The urban population accounted for 39.02% of the total resident population (the urbanization rate), an increase of 1.01 percentage points over the previous year. Among the resident population, there were 1.0677 million males and 1.0563 million females, with a sex ratio of 101.08 (with women as 100).
In the whole year, there were 28,700 births in the whole prefecture, with a birth rate of 13.54‰; there were 17,100 deaths, with a mortality rate of 8.07‰; and the natural growth rate was 5.47‰.
