At the end of 2022 and the beginning of 2023, the resident population of the city was 2.5058 million, a decrease of 20,000 compared with the previous year. Among them, the urban population was 1.0099 million, accounting for 40.3% of the total resident population (the urbanization rate of the resident population), an increase of 0.79 percentage points over the previous year; and the rural population was 1.4959 million, accounting for 59.7% of the total resident population.
The birth population in the whole year was 219,000, with a birth rate of 8.73‰; the death population was 231,000, with a mortality rate of 9.21‰; and the natural growth rate was -0.47‰, a decrease of 1.52‰ compared with the previous year.
