At the end of 2022 and the beginning of 2023, the resident population of the city was 3.199 million, a decrease of 21,000 compared with the previous year. Among them, the urban resident population was 2.0477 million, accounting for 64.01% of the total population (the urbanization rate of the resident population), an increase of 0.51 percentage points over the previous year.

The birth population in the whole year was 19,900, with a birth rate of 6.23‰; the death population was 21,900, with a mortality rate of 6.85‰; and the natural growth rate was -0.62‰. At the end of the year, the household registration population was 3.6729 million, an increase of 60,000 compared with the previous year.
