BASIC INFORMATION

Shaanxi Province, referred to as "Shaan" or "Qin", is a provincial administrative region of the People's Republic of China, with its capital city being Xi'an.

It is located in the central part of China's inland region, on the middle reaches of the Yellow River, bordering Shanxi and Henan in the east, Ningxia and Gansu in the west, Sichuan, Chongqing, and Hubei in the south, and Inner Mongolia in the north.

It falls between 105°29′ and 111°15′ east longitude and 31°42′ and 39°35′ north latitude, with a total area of 205,624.3 square kilometers.

 Shaanxi Province spans three climatic zones, with significant differences in climate between the north and south.

The southern Shaanxi belongs to the northern subtropical climate, while most of the central and northern Shaanxi belong to the warm temperate climate, and the northern Shaanxi belongs to the mid-latitude climate. Shaanxi Province has a terrain that is high in the north and south and low in the center, with a variety of landforms including plateaus, mountains, plains, and basins.
