BASIC INFORMATION

Tianjin, commonly known as "Jin" and also known as Jingu and Jinmen, is a provincial-level administrative region and municipality directly under the Central Government of the People's Republic of China.

Tianjin is located in the north of China, in the northeast of the North China Plain, and in the lower reaches of the Haihe River Basin. It is situated between 116°43' and 118°04' east longitude and 38°34' and 40°15' north latitude. It borders the Bohai Sea to the east, Yanshan Mountain to the north, the capital Beijing to the west, and is adjacent to Hebei Province on all other sides.
