Qinghai Province, commonly known as "Qing", is a provincial administrative region of China located in the inland region of northwest China. It neighbors Gansu to the north and east, Xinjiang to the northwest, Tibet to the south and southwest, and Sichuan to the southeast. With a total area of 720,000 square kilometers, Qinghai is known as the "Western Sea" and the "National Water Tower" in Chinese history.

At the end of 2022 and the beginning of 2023, the permanent resident population of Qinghai Province was 5.95 million, an increase of 10,000 people compared with the previous year. Among them, the population of ethnic minorities was 2.9435 million, accounting for 49.47% of the total permanent resident population.
